Unpeeled says "Weird stuff. So, they've come to the right place with their slowly howling version of Smog murdering Chuck Berry in an insanely muddy slurp of a mix, it's shot through with sheets of feedback and writhing guitar lines and liberally dusted with a soft-landing tambourine." We say "Somewhere in the woods of Sweden a dark sound is brewing in - if not a witch house - at least a witch log cabin. Haunting is an entirely appropriate cliché for these tracks that seep into your consciousness over unhurried running times. The creator of these eerie reports from the ether is Gustav Hedin from Stockholm (so probably not a log cabin!), stirring in Guitar, Synth and FX.
He records onto cassette to produce a masking of the natural melodies, like verdiris on copper, it lies on top to produce an unsettling distance for the listener – rather like the ghostly voices believed to be picked up in taped static. You have to work just that bit harder but the reward is a depth missing from more immediate tunes. Rhythmically it has elements of Kraut to help the hypnotic delivery of the tunes."
